A Better Mid-South: Random attacks

Editorial by WMC Action News 5 General Manager Tracey Rogers:

As a woman, I don't spend a lot of time worrying about random attacks when I go out for dinner, shopping or just run up the street for lunch.

I typically think random attacks are rare, since you are much more likely to be attacked by someone you know.

But those attacks do happen and we need to be vigilant about our safety no matter where we are or what time of day it is.

With that in mind, WMC Action News 5's Kontji Anthony is going to be your wingman, or woman, if you prefer and show you some common mistakes we as women make putting ourselves in danger.

She will have the rundown on this Thursday night at 10.

I can't stress enough the importance of taking your safety into your own hands.

I want to hear about what you do to protect yourself when you go out. Email me at a better mid-south at wmctv dot com or post a message on my Facebook page.

Don't be scared, empower yourself to protect yourself and help make this a safer and better Mid-South.
