Fmr Memphis City Schools leader taking over New York district

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

A former Memphis City Schools superintendent is now taking over a smaller school district.

Kriner Cash led Memphis City Schools from 2008-2013. The district had around 100,000 students at that time.

Cash will now run the public school system in Buffalo, New York. The district has around 34,000 students in 60 different schools.

The school board unanimously approved Cash and agreed to pay him $275,000 in salary. Cash signed a four-year contract.
