Four former Shelby County Corrections deputies pleaded guilty to attempting to smuggle and distribute drugs inside jail.

Torriano Vaughn, Brian Grammer, Anthony Thomas, and Marcus Green all participated in a scheme to smuggle OxyContin pills inside Shelby County Jail between May and December 2014, according to indictments.

Inmates informed law enforcement officers about the smuggling, which prompted an undercover investigation.

Undercover officers posed as associates of the cooperating inmates. The inmates would make arrangements with the jailers to smuggle OxyContin in exchange for hundreds of dollars.

The undercover officers met up with the jailers to make the exchange in various parts of Memphis on three different occasions.

All four men pleaded guilty to attempted possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute.

Each face up to 20 years in prison and up to a $1 million fine.
