MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Marlaquinta McGhee, known as Marla, has not been seen since May 12 when she dropped her sons off at their father’s house in Memphis. Her mother, Lakenya Twilley, last saw her daughter around 6 p.m. that day.

“She has just vanished without a trace,” Lakenya Twilley said. “She came by with the children. When she came by with the children, they were going to stay for dinner. She decided to go home. She was tired. She told me she loved me and walked out of the door.”

Twilley said that night, she got a call from the children’s father, who said McGhee had hit him in the face after an argument. He called police, but McGhee was gone.

“When I gave Marla a call, she did not answer,” Twilley said.

Surveillance cameras at McGhee's apartment complex caught her leaving the morning of May 12.

Twilley said she talked with her daughter every day and her daughter has never just taken off. She has not shown up at her job as a security guard. She has not used her EBT card. Her car has not been found.

“She would not do this,” Twilley said.

Twilley said her family searched for McGhee all over the Memphis area, putting up flyers. Police questioned the father of the children, but did not charge him.

Marla McGhee is 25-years-old. She was last seen wearing an Imperial Security Guard Uniform.

The family is offering a $1000 reward.
