The picture has been trending on social media all over Memphis.

A chance encounter between strangers and a random act of kindness led to a 19-year-old landing a job.

Ladarrius Gilmore now has a new job at Central BBQ and a new friend to go along with it.

Attorney Daniel Hamilton is seen in the picture alongside Gilmore. Monday afternoon, he was driving along the street when he spotted Ladarrius walking and sweating profusely, trying to make the 40 minute trip from his house to Central BBQ.

"He told me ‘do you want a ride,’ because he don't want me sweating in my suit,” Gilmore said.

So Gilmore got in Hamilton’s car. As they talked, Hamilton was impressed when he found out that Central BBQ was hiring and he was making a long walk to fill out an application.

"He gave me a ride to Central BBQ and he came into the building. Then we talked to the manager, Mr. Tom,” Gilmore said.

Once inside the restaurant, Hamilton put in a good word for Ladarrius and explained the teenager was determined to find work.

"I am happy to help a guy like that who is just getting started,” said manager Tom Strange. “He's got the right attitude and Ladarrius definitely has the right attitude.”

Gilmore is a student at Vatterott College. He said his new job will help pay some bills. He feels what happened to him is a blessing and he is grateful to Hamilton and his new boss at the restaurant.

"Don't give up and keep trying,” Gibson said. “It will happen to you.”

"The moral of this story is if you are looking for a job in Memphis, there are jobs out there,” Strange said.

Ladarrius starts his new job Wednesday and he said he plans to put his best foot forward and show up two hours early.
