MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Police said they found nine underage children inside a Memphis house during a narcotics search.

During the search, police arrested 33-year-old Michael Ford Jr. He was reportedly the target of the search at the home at 1428 Hemlock.

Police said during the search they found powder cocaine, crack cocaine and nine kids, ranging in ages from five-months-old to 15-years-old. Police added that four of the children were Ford's responsibility.

Police have been called out to this home 28 times in less than two years.

"They come up and see that and they will do it themselves," said a longtime neighbor.

The home is located between two churches and down the street from a school.

"When we came up, you had to give a church respect, like you give your mother respect, your father respect, anyone respect," added the neighbor.

Residents near the home said they are fed up, and would like police to help take back their neighborhood.

WMC Action News 5 requested information about the well-being of the children found inside the home, but we have not found out whether they have been taken into the care of the Department of Children’s Services.
