MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Parents at Fox Meadows Elementary said they are angry.

They are mad they were not informed anything had happened, even after the suspected prowler was arrested.

Witnesses said it began at a home on Darlington Road when the man tried to get into the side door.

He was spotted and ran away. A family member chased him with their vehicle.

“I should have been notified at least to be aware that the situation was handled and our kids are safe," mother Teresa Hampton said

The lack of communication between the Fox Meadows elementary staff and parents have these mothers very upset.

They are shocked that a man witnesses said is around 16 years old entered the school on Friday.

“I wanted to know who it was and was this the same guy that broke in not too long ago," said a witness.

That witness, who we are not identifying for his safety, chased the man for nearly a mile where he ran into Fox Meadows Elementary School.

“The thought of my family members getting hurt, that’s the scary part.”

And scary for parents who said this man should have never been inside the building. The man was caught and placed into custody by police inside the school.

“They wouldn’t know what to do. They would be terrified," Hampton said.

While their children are safe they still have many questions for why they weren’t informed.

“It keeps me wondering are our kids safe in the schools," Hampton said.
