The Memphis Grizzlies and Memphis Redbirds teamed up on Monday night, bringing Grizz-themed jerseys to the normally cardinal-colored squad.
The Grindfather himself, Grizz star guard Tony Allen was the center of the festivities, throwing out the first pitch - a strike, per Allen and Redbirds catcher Ed Easley. Allen also signed autographs and participated in between-inning games. The organization auctioned off the Redbirds uniforms, and the money will go to the Redbirds Community Fund.
"I figured they'd show me love, it felt great," said Allen. "I was excited to be around them, I haven't (seen) the fans in a while, I'm having fun, I can't complain."
The Redbirds lost the game 5-4 to the New Orleans Zephyrs.
