Flash flood warning issued for Shelby County

SHELBY COUNTY, TN (WMC) -

The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for Shelby County.

NWS advises all residents to move to higher ground immediately. Avoid flooded roads while driving.

The warning is set to expire at 7:15 p.m.

The storm over Midtown Memphis included heavy rain and lightning, but was not considered severe.

Lightning did, however, hit WMC Action News 5. We are experiencing some technical difficulties. Please bear with us as we work to fix these problems.
