MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Grizzlies rookie forward Jarell Martin suffered a fractured left foot Wednesday after colliding with another player during a workout.

Martin will have surgery for the injury Thursday.

There is no timetable for his return, but this type of injury is one that could cost Martin his rookie season.

Martin had been rehabbing that same foot that kept him from playing on the Grizz' Summer League team.

The 6'9' forward from LSU was the 21st pick in this year's NBA draft. He averaged 13.7 points and 6.9 rebounds in his two years in Baton Rouge.
