TIPTON COUNTY, TN (WMC) -

A 79-year-old farmer was doing an honest day's work when he was approached by a man with a gun.

"I said, 'where you live?' and he pointed up across the bean field, that way, but there aren't any houses that way."

He said he was scared for his life when the man pulled out the gun and robbed him a field off of Charleston Gift Road in broad daylight.

"I looked up and there that gun was," said the farmer, who didn't want to show his face on camera. "He said, 'give me that money and don't say nothing.'"

He said the robber got away with his wallet, $100, cell phone and keys. Then, the robber walked to a car parked on the road and drove off.

"He said, 'don't you move until you hear that car door slam, then you can go.'"

The farmer said he had never been robbed before. Now, he wants the man caught before he returns to the fields.

Investigators are still looking for the suspect.

According to investigators, he is between 20 and 25 years old with shoulder-length dreadlocks and noticeable gaps in his teeth.

Tipton County Sheriff J.T. 'Pancho' Chumley released the following statement:

“I am thankful that (the victim) was not physically hurt during the incident. We feel someone may have seen the suspect walking in the area or noticed a suspicious vehicle parked on a field road or in the area.  I want to encourage our hard working farmers and their employees, throughout Tipton County, who find themselves in remote areas of the County to be mindful of their surroundings and report anyone suspicious to the Sheriff’s Office”
