TIPTON COUNTY, TN (WMC) -

Tipton County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested a man accused of making up a police report.

On September 3, 22-year-old Blake William Kamerzink went to a Covington fire station to report that a group of men in a white car were waving guns at him and threatening him.

Investigators searched the area, but couldn't find any suspect vehicles.

Once detectives started looking into the incident, stories were not matching up.

Friday, Kamerzink admitted that he made up the complaint.

Kamerzink was arrested and charged with filing a false report. He is in jail on a $250 bond.

Tipton County Sheriff J.T. 'Pancho' Chumley released the following statement:

“I appreciate all the hard work in resolving this case so quickly and determining this act of violence did not occur.  We take every complaint seriously and especially one of potential violence to the citizens of Tipton County.  In light of the recent threats to our military and law enforcement communities across our Nation, the detectives exhausted every resource to determine that this was not an act of domestic terrorism targeting military personnel. Mr. Kamerzink’s choice to lie about this incident resulted in countless hours spent by the military and Sheriff’s Office personnel.”
