No verdict in bomb trial after two days of deliberations

A federal jury in Memphis deliberated for a second day Monday without a verdict in the trial of former Shelby County medical examiner O.C. Smith. The jury retired for the day after telling the judge it had no decision. Smith claims someone sprayed him with a chemical, bound him, wrapped him in barbed wire and strapped a bomb to his body. That's how he was found outside the forensic lab in 2002. But prosecutors say Smith faked the attack and lied to investigators. He's also charged with possessing a bomb. Prosecutors claim Smith suffers from a mental disorder that causes him to crave attention.
