MEMPHIS, TN (NBC) - Outside of 201 Poplar Avenue, Memphians came together in prayer to wrap their hands around the Criminal Justice Center Saturday afternoon.
The various congregations and groups spent time praying for officers, the city and all people inside of the building.
From court houses to jail cells, the group of dozens came together to inspire hope in spite of negative circumstances.
"We're here to pray for the City of Memphis, pray for our young people, and especially here at 201, to pray for these young men who are incarcerated at this facility," organizer Reverend Ralph White said. "Even though they're in situations that appear negative, we believe that they can be restored."
