MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Emergency crews found a car submerged in Cypress Lake after more than four hours of searching.

First responders rushed to the scene outside of the Madison at Cypress Lake Apartments in the 6800 block of Quince Road around 3:40 a.m.

According to police on the scene, a witness called and told them one car was in the middle of Quince Road with its flashers on and another car was upside down in Cypress Lake with the trunk open.

The water is at least 20 feet deep, and crews were unable to find the car until just after 8 a.m.

Once crews pulled the car from the water, they identified it as a stolen 2013 Honda Civic. The car was unoccupied. Cadaver dogs searched the lake, but no bodies were found. It appears the car was empty when it crashed into the lake.

Quince Road was blocked between Five Colonies Road and Riverdale Road. Click here for our traffic tracker.
