MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A Tuesday morning shooting sent a Memphis driver to the hospital.
Police said they found a car with its windows shot out on Worthington Street near Lamar Avenue. The driver was later found at Regional Medical Center with a gunshot wound in his shoulder.
Vee Adams woke up inside her home on Worthington Street and saw a crime scene outside her window.
"When I see crime scene tape, I think someone is dead," Adams said. "That's the first thing that came to my mind."
Investigators said the shooting actually happened near the Church's Chicken on Elvis Presley Boulevard. The victim's condition has not been released.
"They need to stop it. I used to be scared to go out at night, now I'm scared to go out in the daytime, because it's even happening in the day time," Adams said.
Police are still working to figure out who pulled the trigger and why.
