MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - When the Dixon opened 40 years ago, it was the height of disco, bell-bottoms, Polaroid cameras and lava lamps.
This family day, the Dixon is celebrating 1970s style with groovy activities and far out decor!
This 1970s Family Day is free and no reservations are required. You are invited to bring the whole family in order to learn more about the current exhibitions and create your own really cool works of art--like filling scrapbooks with spin art, Polaroid self-portraits and other retro crafts.
There will also be a disco dance party and a 1970s lounge. There will even be time to hug a tree and make a terrarium!
Plenty of snacks will be served.
The fun starts at 10:00 a.m. and lasts until 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 20.
