Man arrested for stealing phones, trying to sell them

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

A man is behind bars after stealing $60,000 worth of electronics.

Shelby County sheriff’s deputies said five men wearing masks and gloves broke the glass out of the front door at Magic Wireless in the 4100 block of Hacks Cross Road on February 6.

The suspects broke several glass display cases and stole phones, tablets and watches, among other items.

The damage was valued at about $60,000. Surveillance video caught the suspects leaving in a dark-colored sedan.

On February 8, two women and a man were found by detectives at Smooth Wireless in the 3400 block of Park Avenue attempting to sell cell phones taken in the Magic Wireless burglary.

The two women were released without charges.

21-year-old Denzel Jones admitted to the Magic Wireless burglary and was arrested.

Jones is charged with two counts of burglary and two counts of theft of property.
