MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Two masked men shot and killed someone after stealing a weave.

Police said two men wearing ski masks entered 'Bundles of Hair' on Millbranch Road between Hester Road and East Holmes Road. After entering, they shot at someone.

Police said they ran away after stealing a box of hair weave.

Family members confirmed the man killed was Willie Abston.

"His cousin called me at probably 5:05 and said that he had just got killed,” Watasha Smalley said.

Smalley has been with Abston for 18 years. She said he worked with his cousin who owned the business.

Family members waited hours in agony while police investigated.

"They tell us it is him, but we don't know,” one family member said. “We haven't seen him. Nobody has let anybody go in there."

"It's so senseless--a box of hair,” a family member said.

Smalley said her last conversation with Abston was ordinary.

"I asked him how his day was going,” she said. “He said it was all right, but his head was hurting. I said ‘go get something for your head and I'll see you later.’"

Abston was a man loved by his friends and family. They said they cannot make sense of his death.

"When you take a life you can't get it back,” his sister said. “You can't get them back. You don't come back."

According to police, the men left the business in a small blue vehicle. One of the suspects is believed to be missing a shoe.
