MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A Memphis woman has been indicted for abusing a disabled adult.
Special agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said they received an indictment for Tenesha Benjamin, 23.
Investigators said Benjamin was a caretaker for ACA Communities, which is a group that "provides a range of services to adults with mental retardation and developmental disabilities in the Memphis Tennessee area."
TBI agents said Benjamin verbally and physically assaulted a woman who lives at the facility located on Union Avenue. The incident happened on February 8, 2015.
Benjamin faces one count of adult abuse, neglect, or exploitation. She was booked into the Shelby County Jail on $10,000 bond.
