MARSHALL CO., MS (WMC) - The Marshall County Sheriff's Department captured a man believed to have committed a murder in Marshall County.
A warrant was issued for Chester Dallas Brents, 65, who is accused of the murder.
The Chickasaw County Sheriff's Department captured Brents during a traffic stop Saturday.
The murder happened on the 50 block of River Ridge Circle about 3 p.m. Friday.
Deputies believe Brents shot and killed 54-year-old Cathy Mills, believed to be his girlfriend.
Before his capture, family members of Mills asked Brents to turn himself in.
"If you're guilty, if you did this, you need to give us justice," Cathy's nephew Jessie Mills said. "If something else went on, we need to hear your side as well. Being out there hiding or running, it doesn't look good."
"I would like to say how low down I think it is that he did that to her because when he didn't have a place to go these people took him in," Glenda Williams, a friend of Mills said. "I'm going to miss her; I really am. I hope he gets what he deserves."
