MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Memphis police arrested a man they believe may have shot and killed his girlfriend.
Donald Dodd, 35, is accused of shooting and killing his girlfriend, Rachel Pool, in the 4400 block of Powell Avenue on January 21.
Police said Dodd called 911 and said Pool shot herself.
When first responders arrived, they found Pool with a gunshot wound. She was taken to Regional Medical Center, where she died from her injuries on January 22.
The medical examiner ruled Pool's death as a homicide.
Investigators said Dodd was interviewed and he gave conflicting stories about what happened. Dodd told police he and Pool were alone in their apartment and the gun went off as he tried to take it from her.
Dodd was arrested and is charged with reckless homicide.
