Body found in Tennessee park identified as missing Oklahoma woman

A body found in the Natchez Trace State Park is that of an Oklahoma woman who disappeared soon after she reported picking up a hitchhiker while driving to visit her parents in Tennessee. That's according to the family's pastor. David and Ann Phillips of Franklin had been looking for their daughter, Amanda Ann Phillips Bateman, since she disappeared early Monday while driving from Chandler, Oklahoma. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is holding a news conference later today to discuss the case. The 29-year-old Bateman used her cell phone to call her family early Monday morning and say she'd picked up a hitchhiker in Memphis and was planning to drive him to the next major intersection along Interstate 40. She checked in again about two o'clock but wasn't heard from after that. The F-B-I says it wants to question a 30-year-old transient who used Bateman's cell phone to call a relative in Georgia. Her car was later found near Dallas.
