Memphis couple ready for next level of stardom

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - For some people, a life in the limelight is predestined.

Such is the case for Terel and Chrisla Key, a Memphis couple determined to make it big.

They turned out for an open casting call Saturday for Million Dollar Quartet hoping for a role on the new CMT series that follows the life of music legends like Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Johnny Cash.

More than a thousand hopefuls showed up to Humes Preparatory Academy for tryouts, yet only a few made it to the next round.

The Keys were among that talented few.

"Auditions were great. We had a good time and everyone was nice," Terel said.

"It's kind of like a wait and see kind of era at this point, but it's still really fun," Chrisla said.

The Keys are fresh off of a New Year's adventure in the Outback after winning a trip to Australia on NBC's "Best Time Ever" reality game show.

The couple chronicles their experiences on "KEYping Up with the Keys," a Facebook group with more a thousand fans.

The Keys are full of creativity and charisma and they're always camera ready.

"I would claim it and speak it into existence: a television show. A show about us--the positivity that we bring; the positive energy we bring to the city," Terel said.

"We see ourselves elevating to something greater. We like to show everyone that just because you're married doesn't mean you have to get boring," Chrisla said.
