COLLIERVILLE, TN (WMC) - A Mid-South lawmaker is pushing to speed up when you can buy wine at the grocery store.
Collierville Representative Curry Todd said the bill will give retailers more time to get wine licenses and have the wine in stores before it goes on sale July 1.
Right now, stores must apply for that license on the same day sales begin. That means customers wanting to buy wine would have to wait for months while the stores receive the licenses.
A vote on the new bill could happen by the end of this month.
