Woman claims self-defense in love triangle assault

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A woman told police she was acting in self-defense when she cut another woman with a razor blade.

According to police, the victim, whose name we will not reveal to protect her identity, was parked outside of her home in the 800 block of Jefferson Avenue on February 14. She then started fighting with another woman who had been seeing the same man.

The victim said the other woman, later identified as Annluvina Hardrick, left, but returned a little while later and parked down the street from her house. When the victim walked up to Hardick's car, Hardrick started swinging her fists at her. The victim punched Hardrick in self-defense, but then Hardrick kicked her repeatedly.

The victim told police she then realized Hardrick cut her on the chest and on the arm. She was taken to the hospital and treated.

Police arrested Hardrick on February 16, Hardrick admitted that she bought a razor blade just before the incident and used it in self-defense when the two started fighting.

Hardrick is charged with attempted second-degree murder.
