MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A Man is now in critical condition after being carjacked Saturday morning.
This happened in the 4100 block of Barron Avenue.
A witness told police they heard several shots and saw the victim lying on the sidewalk.
"A crime scene in front of your house it is a scary situation," one neighbor said.
Police said the man ran after suspects took his Suburban, wallet and cell phone.
According to investigators, the man was shot multiple times trying to run away from a carjacking.
The suspects left the scene with the victim's 2001 Suburban and in their Lexus.
The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
A neighbor on Barron Avenue said she arrived home with her children to the scene and saw all the blue lights.
"There were ten police cars here," she said. "They told me I had to park down the street."
"Now I have to be more aware and protective of my family," neighbor Anthony Sims said.
Sims said it is usually a quiet street, but the silver lining is that a good neighbor took action when they saw what happened.
"If it was my family or someone that was related to me I would want someone to call the police," Sims said.
The victim's car has been recovered, but police do not have anyone in custody.
