MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Four cars were involved in a crash on I-40, causing one to burst into flames.
Three of the cars were family members on the way to a 12-year-old's birthday party.
A white car crashed into the back of another, causing a chain reaction. The white car caught on fire as a result of the crash.
A man driving by stopped and got out of his car with a fire extinguisher and helped put the fire out.
Witnesses said one person was taken to the hospital with a broken wrist, but no one else was seriously injured. They said the good Samaritan with a fire extinguisher is to thank.
"Thank you so much for helping us from having a huge tragedy. If the car exploded, it could have been more injuries or even a fatality. Thank god it wasn't."
