MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

A thunderstorm developed in Randolph County, Arkansas, around 7:30 a.m. Sunday and quickly strengthened as it moved southeast. National Weather Service Memphis issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Randolph and Lawrence County at 7:45 a.m. and the warning continued until 8:30 a.m.

During that time, there were strong wind gusts up to 40 MPH and several reports of hail. Pea to nickel size hail covered the ground near Pocahontas, Ravenden Springs and Manila, Arkansas. The maximum estimated size of the reported hail was 0.88 inches.

The hail littered the ground and looked like snowfall in some spots. Thankfully, the hail was small enough to not cause any major damage.
