MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A man was shot multiple times and killed outside a fast food restaurant on Winchester Road.
According to police, the man was shot on the sidewalk in the 4200 block of Winchester Road near a Dixie Queen.
Witnesses said three people--a man and two women--were standing outside when a car pulled up. Someone in the car started arguing with the man, then got out of the car and shot him multiple times.
The victim was later identified as 25-year-old Darius Small.
Police said they have very few leads as to who may have shot Small. A lieutenant on the scene said the shooting may have happened in conjunction with a robbery.
"There are some witnesses," the lieutenant said. "We got one witness. The others ran off but we will get ahold of them. It may be a possible robbery gone bad. That's what it kind of looks like but we just don't know."
This incident marks the 34th homicide of 2016. A search of the crime map within half a mile of the shooting revealed more than 150 crimes this year, ranging from assault to vandalism to burglary.
Police have no suspect description at this time.
