MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A group of Memphis high school singers will take their talents to the Big Apple twice this year.
White Station High School's 'Key of She' female a cappella group will perform twice in New York City after winning first place in the International Championship of High School a cappella semifinals competition. The competition was held in Norcross, Georgia over the weekend and featured the ten top high school a cappella groups from across the south. The ladies will now advance to the ICSHA Finals at The Town Hall in New York City on April 29.
'Key of She', along with White Station's all-male a cappella group 'DoReHe', have also been invited to sing at Carnegie Hall for the Total Vocal convention March 17-20. The event features Deke Sharon, producer and music director of the 'Pitch Perfect' franchise and NBC's 'The Sing Off'.
'Key of She' and 'DoReHe' supporters have set up a GoFundMe to help the students pay for their trip. To donate, click here.
