Fmr. Selmer officer indicted on child porn charges

Selmer, TN (WMC) -

A former Selmer police lieutenant has been indicted on multiple child pornography charges.

The charges stem from a federal undercover investigation.

Tony O. Miller, 36, was indicted Wednesday on one count of receipt of child pornography and two counts of access with intent to view child pornography.

According to the indictment, between February and March 2015, Miller, of Finger, Tennessee, obtained images and videos of minors engaged in sexually explicit acts. Some of those minors were as young as 12 years old.

Undercover Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents identified users of a website that was set up to share child pornography. The visitors of the website could view, download, and comment on material being shared. They could also upload their own material.

FBI agents identified Miller as one of the users of the website. At the time of the alleged conduct, he was a lieutenant with the Selmer Police Department.

If convicted, Miller faces 5-10 years on the receipt of child pornography charge. He also faces up to 20 years for each access with intent to view child pornography charge.

Miller also faces individual fines of up to $25,000 for each count.
