MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Police are on the lookout for a man they say is impersonating an officer.
The man reportedly pulled a driver over, pointed a gun and badge at him, and forced him into the back of a fake police car.
The incident reportedly happened on Southern Avenue. According to the victim, David Kimble, he saw blue lights and immediately pulled over.
"I think it's just a routine stop and he jumps out with a gun, told me to get out my car," said Kimble.
Kimble said the man had a gun, badge, and was even in a police uniform. He said when he asked what he was being pulled over for, the man did not give a reason. He only said, "because he could".
Kimble was handcuffed and put in the back of what he thought was a police car.
"I'm in the backseat of his car and he is going through my car," said Kimble.
That is when Kimble noticed the police car he was in wasn't a police car at all. There was no radio system or customized dash in the car. He said the officer kept asking him "where are the drugs".
"He was looking for something obviously that I didn't have," said Kimble.
After the agonizing event, the fake cop just let Kimble go.
The man was reportedly in a 2012 Black Dodge Charger with a blue bubble light and the number 17 in white numbers on the side.
Police are still looking for this cop impersonator. If you have any information, you are urged to call the Memphis Police Department.
