A baby in Australia is being called the "oldest baby" ever.

Xavier Powell was born in June 2015. He's not quite a year old, but his life is 23 years in the making.

According to Channel Nine's 60 Minutes, Xavier was conceived using sperm older than any used in previous IVF treatments.

Xavier's father was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in the 1990s.

By chance, Alex Powell's stepmother urged him to go to the sperm bank and freeze a sample.

Powell eventually beat cancer and went on living his life without any thought to his stored sperm.

Two decades later, he met his wife. They began trying to have a child.

It took a year of IVF treatments for the couple to conceive. Xavier was born June 17, 2015.
