MILLINGTON, TN (WMC) - Another big name in the Republican presidential primaries will make a campaign stop in the Mid-South this weekend.
Millington is preparing to host the Republican front runner, Donald Trump.
There's top secret planning going on and Millington Fire and Police Departments, along with the Shelby County Sheriff's Office and Millington Airport authorities have met to secure a rally for Donald Trump.
They're expecting a large crowd as the presidential candidate makes his way to the Mid-South on Saturday.
Trump's event is scheduled to be held at the Millington Regional Jetport on Saturday at 6 p.m.
The event is free and those who want to attend must sign up online.
Millington Fire Chief Gary Graves suggests those who want to attend should bring your walking shoes.
"They will have to walk a little ways to get to the venue site. There will not be any parking close to the venue site," Graves said.
The hanger holds at least 19,000-20,000 people, standing room only.
The small town north of Memphis will be jammed with traffic directed by Millington Police.
"The main entry point is on Navy Road, so Hornet and Astoria Roads will be the two main entry points coming in here," Graves said.
Trump will fly in and out of Millington for the rally with his own security and private jet.
"It's an 8,000 foot runway. It's the third largest runway in the state of Tennessee. It can accommodate up to C17 military aircraft," Graves said.
Chief Graves believes the venue is a prime location to host a high profile candidate like Trump.
"Logistically for something like this, it worked out real well. Being able to accommodate that and everything is in one spot," Graves said.
