Biker Dad: WMC Action News 5 helps spread motorcycle awareness

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - As the weather gets nicer, more and more motorcycles are hitting the roads. Unfortunately, that means more and more motorcycle crashes. WMC Action News 5 is teaming up with the Motorcycle Awareness Campaign to help spread the word to watch out for motorcycles.

Beginning March 9, WMC will air a public service announcement urging drivers to look out for motorcycles and for riders to practice safety first. The PSA stars Josh Fair and his fiance Cayce Stephens. Fair was badly injured in a motorcycle crash with a car in October of 2015, suffered massive injuries and was nearly killed.

Frank Barton, president of the Motorcycle Awareness Campaign and owner of Barton Power Sports which sells Victory motorcycles, says the PSA shows a powerful story that will remind us all to look out.

"As the owner of a business that sells a product that's inherently more dangerous than other vehicles, joining the Motorcycle Awareness Campaign is my way of giving back and improving safety for us all," said Barton, "We are all humans; let's look out for one another."
