INDIANAPOLIS, IN (WMC) - The NFL combine continuing this weekend, with all eyes on the quarterbacks and wide receivers.
Former Memphis Tiger Paxton Lynch is trying to squash any doubts NFL scouts have about his abilities. Lynch was measured with a 36 inch vertical leap and clocked a 4.86 40-yard dash. The knock has been his accuracy under center, something he didn't have to do at Memphis.
In 2015, Lynch passed for over 3,700 yards and 28 touchdowns and completed 66.8 percent of his pass attempts, most out of the shotgun or pistol formation.
Lynch believes his size, measured this week as 6'6" and 244 pounds, will be a big key to his success at the next level.
"In the NFL, all those guys are just freaks; they're huge," Lynch said. "Cam Newton is basically playing every position in the NFL. Those guys are so big. I think having the height that I have, I'm able to see the field easier than guys that aren't as tall. The flip side, those guys can see you just as easy."
NFL Analyst Solomon Wilcots likes Lynch to go 15 to the LA Rams, adding that he's a quarterback who can grow with the franchise.
