MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Two people are behind bars, accused of causing a crash and gas pump fire at Mapco near Mt. Moriah Road and Park Avenue.

The crash happened just after 7:30 a.m. Sunday.

According to police, two cars crashed into each other and one of the vehicles jumped the curb and hit a gas pump.

“I saw the car actually up against the pump in flames,” witness Maureo Simmons said. “I was just like wow, a pump is on fire and I hope the building doesn't catch on fire.”

Simmons recorded video of the fire.

“The crash actually started from the red light itself and the car ran up on the curb and it actually hit the pump,” Simmons said.

Three people, a child and two adults, were taken to the hospital in non-critical condition.

According to the police report, both drivers said the other driver ran the red light.

The two drivers were identified as Vickie Love and Jose Angel Funez-Castro. Both drivers were arrested.

Castro was charged with driving without a license, while Love was charged with driving on a suspended license. Neither driver had insurance.

This is not the first time Love has been locked up. She has been previously arrested on charges of forgery, violation of probation and even has another previous charge of driving with a suspended license.

The Mapco store remained opened on the inside while crews cleaned the wreckage of the crash at the pumps, which were closed.

“The lesson learned here is slow down,” Simmons said.
