MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - TDOT is closing lanes on Interstate 40 near a busy road to finish a construction project.
Both east and west bound lanes will be closed overnight March 2 and 3 at the Canada Road exit. Crews will be removing overhang bridge supports and installing drainage pipes.
The lanes will be closed between 8 p.m. and 4 a.m. both days.
TDOT crews will provide a detour route for drivers. If you normally use Canada road, and you're trying to enter I-40, Traffic Tracker Janeen Gordon suggests you take Canada Road to highway 64 and take that down and travel westbound to I-40.
The work is all part of a $28 million project to remodel the interchange at I-40 and Canada Road. The project is expected to be completed at the end of May 2017.
