MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

The Wolf River Conservancy is hosting its annual tree planting event on Saturday, March 12.

The 11th annual event will take place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Shelby Farms Park.

The Wolf River Conservancy plans to create a butterfly habitat by planting over 350 Eastern Redbud trees, along with other plants that attract butterflies.

Shelby County Mayor Mark Luttrell will kick off the event by speaking to the volunteers.

The event is part of a three-year plan the conservancy has to attract butterflies and birds to the area.
