A Better Mid-South: Misplaced passion

A Better Mid-South: Misplaced passion

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Editorial by Tracey Rogers, Vice President and General Manager of WMC Action News 5:

The passion we've seen displayed in Memphis this week is amazing.

The passion did not center around crime, schools, poverty or politics. It swirled around parking and grass - specifically people parking on the Greensward at the Memphis Zoo.

I'm not here to say what you should and should not be passionate about. That's up to you. But I am here to say wouldn't it be even more amazing if we saw this kind of passion when our children are being shot and killed, or when our city is struggling to address poverty in our communities?

Maybe it's because those problems are just too big for us to wrap our arms around.

What do you think? Let me hear from you. Email me at abettermidsouth@wmctv.com, or go to my Facebook page, A Better Mid-South.

Passion about the struggles in our community is what we need to make this A Better Mid-South.
