PANOLA CO, MS (WMC) - A Mississippi prosecutor said the man accused of killing Jessica Chambers won't be prosecuted until late 2016.
Quinton Tellis is accused of capital murder in the death of 19-year-old Chambers. She was found burning alive next to her car, which was also on fire, in December 2014.
However, Tellis is currently in jail in Monroe, Louisiana, awaiting trial. He is accused of using the debit card of a University of Louisiana at Monroe exchange student who was found dead in her apartment. That trial is not expected to begin until May.
If he's convicted in that case, it could take another three months before he is sentenced, then a while longer for Mississippi paperwork to reach the governor.
