Memphis police can now wear ball caps

Memphis police officers can now wear ball caps on the job.

Interim Director Michael Rallings asked for two MPD ball caps to be designed, and then sent a survey out to all employees and the public to vote on their favorite. The votes were tallied, and a design was selected and approved.

Memphis police made the announcement about the change on their Facebook Wednesday, and also thanked the public for participating in the survey and supporting Memphis officers.

Before this, officers were not able to wear ball caps on the job.
