Mississippi State student pleads guilty to trying to help ISIS

GREENVILLE, MS (WMC) -

A Mississippi State University Student accused of trying to join ISIS several months ago pleaded guilty Friday.

Muhammad Oda Dakhlalla, 23, and his fiancee Jaelyn Young, 19, were both arrested after reports that they were trying to join ISIS.

Dakhlalla and Young were both captured at the Golden Triangle airport in Columbus, Mississippi after trying to leave the country.

Dakhlalla pleaded guilty to conspiring to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization. He was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service to await sentencing.
