MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Drivers heading out of town on Sam Cooper Boulevard will face an abrupt lane shift and a lower speed limit.
TDOT crews are shifting the eastbound lanes where drivers merge with eastbound I-40 and I-240 to allow for construction in the area.
Contractors are rebuilding a section of the bridge over the Wolf River, and expect to be finished in fall 2016.
During the work, an advisory speed limit of 20 mph will be posted for drivers merging from Sam Cooper onto the interstate. The ramp from I-240 to I-40 eastbound will also be reduced to one lane.
