MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Police are searching for the men responsible for shooting a 16-year-old early Saturday morning.
Officers said they found the teen shot and unresponsive in the 700 block of Semmes Street.
The teen was taken to Regional Medical Center in critical condition, but later died from his injuries. He was later identified as D'Anthony Obee.
Investigators said Obee was walking in the area when two men approached him. Obee then ran when he was chased by the suspects and shot.
Neighbors said the violence need to stop.
"I just think we need to stop the violence on one another. I feel sorry for our youth that are just killing one another. Lives, Black Live Matter, All Lives Matter, we need to stop killing each other—meaningless," one neighbor said.
Makia Johnson lives on the same street as the shooting and said she does not know where she can keep her children safe.
"I just keep my kids inside for the most part, because I don't have time for Memphis anymore," Johnson said. "It's like every day, someone's dying for no reason."
There is no description of the suspects.
