MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A 34-year-old man is dead after being shot around 9:45 Friday night in the 6300 block of Uncle Remus Drive.
Memphis Police originally believed the man was involved in a physical confrontation with three women, ages 21-26, prior to the shooting. However, witnesses on the scene told police that 22-year-old Nicole Houston is the person responsible.
Police stopped a vehicle with three women inside at the entrance way of the apartments as they were leaving. Houston was detained, along with two other women, but those two were released without charges.
Investigators said Houston admitted to shooting the victim after she got into a physical altercation with him.
Houston was charged with second-degree murder.
Officers identified the victim as Steve Taylor. He was found dead at the scene.
