MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Police arrested the man they said is responsible for robbing and shooting a man on March 11.
According to the affidavit, after flagging the police down, the victim told police he was robbed of $85 and shot in the left hand and stomach. He even provided contact information for his attacker.
The victim was taken to Regional Medical Center in critical condition.
On March 12, detectives named Eric Rudd, 18, as a suspect in the attack by noticing that Rudd used the phone number the victim gave police as his phone when he was arrested in February.
The victim positively identified Rudd as the person who robbed and shot him.
Rudd was taken into custody after he was seen as a passenger in Pontiac Grand Prix. Police said a pistol was in plain view on the floor of the car where Rudd was sitting. Police said they also found marijuana in Rudd's pocket during a search.
Investigators said Rudd admitted to selling marijuana to a man he didn't know and shooting at him.
Rudd is charged with especially aggravated robbery, possession of a controlled substance with intent to manufacture, deliver, or sell, and possession of a handgun during a violent felony.
