MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A 70-year-old man was injured during a hit-and-run crash.
The crash happened near the intersection of Highland Street and Coleman Avenue.
The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Autumn Gann has lived on Coleman Avenue for 15 years. She had an unexpected wakeup call before 9:00 Monday morning. She came outside to find law enforcement up and down her block.
"Ten police and two cars. A truck," said Gann.
According to family, the man that was hit is Spencer David May. According to his son, the two of them and one other man came to work on a woman's yard early Monday morning. While May was unloading his tools, a red truck came barreling towards him. According to his son, who was inside the home, May yelled "Whoa" before the truck smashed into him.
"This is just crazy," said Gann.
The accident left debris from the car strewn everywhere and May on the ground bleeding out of his head. The driver then sped off down Coleman Avenue, leaving family members angry and police looking for the person responsible.
Police are searching for a red Ford pickup truck.
