Burglars hit north Memphis church twice in the last month

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - For the second time in weeks, crooks tried to silence the sermon at Pure Harvest Ministries Church in North Memphis off Chelsea Avenue.

"They stole all of our mics that time and we had bought another mic, and this time they came and cleaned us out for all our speakers," Bishop Ralph Ward said.

Thieves broke through windows and even busted down walls.

Burglars swiped everything from the P.A. system in the sanctuary to cleaning supplies in the restrooms.

"They even stole our toilet paper," Ward said.

Ward said his congregation does not have a lot, but they give back to their community, feeding and supplying milk for children in the neighborhood.

"We try our best to minister to people in this community so I don't so a reason why anyone would break in our church," he said.

With a heavy heart, Ward said he is considering moving his ministry.

In the meantime, he's praying for the people responsible and shared this message.

"God still loves them in spite of and hopefully they will find it in their heart to repent, and may God have mercy on them."

Anyone with information about the burglaries is urged to contact Memphis police at 901-545-COPS or 901-528-CASH.
